The older my two kids get, the more I absolutely love their age difference, 19 months or anywhere around there is perfect! The older Ella gets, the more I think..."Wow, when Joel was her age I was 3.5 months away from having a new baby...crazy" I am amazed by this, mainly because I think she is still so much of a "baby" and being 15 months old I can still say she is! I remember distinctly thinking during Joel's "baby days" how big he was and how old he was getting, because he was doing all these new things. It must have been because I did not have anyone to compare him to and with Ella I always have an older sibling to compare her to, so she was always little! Our thinking that Joel was getting so big must have been the reason for our longing for a new baby when he was a mere 9 months old and then finding out we were pregnant again when he was 10 months old! I know it is not as close as some people and not as far as others, it seems to be just a little less than average and 2 years seems to be the average marker with the moms that I run into.
I digress, a year and a half seems to be the perfect age difference for our oldest two. Ella has loved having Joel to watch and learn from and play with, I don't remember Joel being as interactive with others, when he was Ella's age. Now it could just be a personality thing, and part of it might be, but I like to think it is because Ella has someone little like her to watch and play tricks on and have fun with.
One of things I like most about being a mom of two is watching my kids play with each other, have fun with each other, enjoy each other and love each other. I know there will always be those siblings spats but I hope their enjoyment of each other lasts a life time.

The ear and sinus drama
Our little 15 month old daughter has had multiple ear and sinus infections since the beginning of august. Every single cold, and I am not exaggerating here, that she has had since august (she didn't have any colds before then) has turned into either a sinus infection, an ear infection or both. She has been on all the antibiotics you can give a baby...probably not such a good thing due to the fact of antibiotic resistance if that rings true. Hopefully soon we will be getting down to the bottom of this problem she has been having. We have been referred to an ENT and I am guessing they will take a look at her records and look her over at the time of our appointment. Having no background on this what-so-ever except for knowing they deal with ear, nose and throat problems and do surgery when needed, I do not know what to expect. I hope we have a very kind doctor who will talk to us about everything going on, I am at a loss for questions. I will be doing a lot of research from here till the time of her appointment. I am praying that we can get this resolved soon and quickly so that she will not have any speech delays or pronunciation problems in the very near future.
Here is a picture of our sweet, loving girl. I love how girls give kisses and hugs so generously!

A New Year
I think what I like least about blogging is what everyone likes most about reading a blog. It is the pictures, more pictures less talk. To me it is so time consuming picking out the pictures I want to post and then actually posting them on the blog. They come out in the wrong order and/or layout and switching them around is too hard for me, or maybe I just don't want to put in the tedious about time it takes to change it all around. Or maybe I am just a perfectionists and want it to be just right so I spend waaay too much time organizing it all when I actually looked all right in the first place. Only being able to upload 5 at a time it not too great either. So I put off updating until you start to think, "Does she really have a blog, I mean there are no recent posts on there." All this to say there are going to be no pictures on this post, just boring words put together to allow you something to do while your kids are napping and you need a break from your life to read about other peoples trials and triumphs! Without further ado here is an update on our life at the moment:
Surprise, surprise my kids have colds AGAIN and what do you know Ella has most likely developed some sort of infection!! whoop, whoop, three cheers for us!! It seemed like they were sick for the entire month of December, maybe it was more like 2 1/2 weeks, but still forever. When they were seeming to be better I started taking them back to the gym just before Christmas. I love being able to go to the gym and fit in a good run while they are able to play in thegerm infested, I mean sterile, friendly, fun kid zone...rriight. I usually go and get a quick run in on the treadmill, hey it beats having to push two screaming kids in a double jogger for 30-40 min...those things are heavy when you have two in there, one who weighs 33lbs and another who weighs 22lbs, plus the weight of the jogger. Too much for me. After being able to go to the gym for two weeks, they then come down with a cold, I shouldn't be surprised and it is only building up their immunity, right? So when they go to kindergarten they will have a shield of protection around them from all the germs found in an elementary school. I don't mind colds too much, I know they are apart of life, but what bothers me the most is that Ella, without fail has ended up with either an ear infection or sinus infection or both from her cold. This has happened since the beginning of August till now, each one coming with about a month or a month and a half after her previous one, poor baby. Hopefully the doctor can help us out tomorrow.
On a happier note I just finished my first online graduate class and I am pretty sure I have an A! It was much easier than I anticipated and I was able to complete most of my work during afternoon nap-times, I really enjoyed it too! My next class starts at the end of January, hopefully it will be similar to this last one.
Happy Sunday to you all!
