some pics of our little toddler

A few weeks ago we saw an add on craigslist (craigslist is wonderful by the way) for 20 cords of seasoned red oak for free!!  We have been looking for wood so that we will be ready this winter to supplement our heat.   Todd rented a box truck from rentals unlimited and loaded up the truck with some help from the men working on chopping the trunks up.  He had had some help from some family and friends to unload the wood and stack it in the back when he brought the truck home!  We got a ton of wood!!  Hopefully our power bill will be less this winter!!!

Last week I heard some scratching in the pipe for our wood stove.  At first I was afraid it was a squirrel, but then I thought it was too small to be a squirrel.  So I was thinking about what to do and the bird dropped into the stove.  This made it easier to get the bird out, but I still had no idea how I was going to get the bird out of the stove....I did not want it flying around our house!  So I thought about getting a plastic bag and covering the opening so that the bird would fly into the bag.  Well as I was holding the bag the bird flew out of the stove but not into the bag...I screamed (and Joel was taking a nap at this point!) as the bird flew and crashed into the windows a couple of times.  I had some time to capture some pictures before I released it into the wild.  (all I had to do was open our screen door and the bird flew right out)

One of Joel's favorite activities is to walk up and down our driveway with his pushing cart.  Here are a few pictures of him walking!  His hair looks so red in this picture with the sun shinning on it.  Maybe we will have a reddish brownish head boy!

When Joel is finished his meal you always know, because he starts to play with his food and throw it and everything.  This particular day he decided it was funny to put the food on his head!

A walking boy and a bit of news!

Well I don't have any pictures to upload...I am so bad at uploading our pictures on our computer!  Next time.

What have we been up to?  Todd had spring break a few weeks ago and we were able to head up to the cabin for a little while with my parents.  We had a great time just relaxing and getting away.  While we were there we even had snow flurries in April!!  Crazy I know, since it was cold we were able to enjoy a warm cabin and work on a puzzle together!  After the cabin we came back home and Todd worked on our bathroom that we are still trying to finish.  After some long days of fitting tile on the floor and cutting tile and laying the motor down and then the tile again and then grouting he finished the floor!!  It looks great, (I promise a picture will come).  Now we just have to tile the walls in the shower and we will be done (hopefully before next spring! hehe)  We had a great spring break, I know Todd enjoyed some time off from work.  

Slowly and steadily Joel has been adding more and more steps to his walking.  It is so cute to see him waddling around.  He still crawls and he has not figured out how to get back up to standing without the help of a piece of furniture yet, but he is close!  Soon we will have some crazy adventures of chasing around a running boy everywhere.  

Our other new news is that we are expecting baby number two!!  I am about 15 weeks and we are due Oct 14th.  So that means Joel and his sib will be 19 months apart.  Crazy fun times we have ahead of us.  We are so excited about this baby and cannot wait to find out if it is a boy or a girl!
