What did he do?

The other day I was in the kitchen, doing something important I am sure, when I heard that it was a little too quiet in the other room.   Here is what I found:

Joel discovered that there was ash in the wood stove and ash is so fun to play with! :-)

If you look closely there is ash all over his shirt and shorts!

At least he loves to help vacuum! 

 

Father's Day!

On Father's Day this year Todd got a wheelbarrow among other manly gifts!  Joel had fun being wheeled around in the newly put together blue wheelbarrow!  Here are some pics:

Joel is a great helper!  He even likes to bring back the recycling bucket to the house!  Here he is pushing:

 

"I want my baby back, baby back, baby back ribs!!"

Ribs were on sale one week at the grocery store, so we bought some and had a fabulous BBQ rib dinner!  It so oh so delicious and the meat just fell off the bone!

Joel even liked to grab his own ribs and chew on the bone!!

Strawberry picking is not much fun for toddlers

Back in June, my friend Katie and I went strawberry picking at the local orchard near our house.  Fresh strawberries are so delicious and perfect for making the best strawberry jam you have ever had!  Picking strawberries is not all that delightful, at least for someone who is pregnant and a 15 month old in the morning sun!  Is the taste of a fresh strawberry really worth the pick??  I would say yes it is, but don't spend an hour picking them, 15 min is just enough time! 

I forgot that when you pick strawberries you have to bend down or squat.  Not too bad unless you have a baby hindering your ability to bend over gracefully, let alone bend over at all!  Joel had fun for his 1 minute attention span picking and eating the strawberries.  I had to make sure that he was not eating the green ones or the rotten ones, but he didn't seem to mind which ones he ate!  Once he was tried of picking them Joel promptly sat down in the aisle with a not so happy face and waited until mommy was finished gathering her bunch!

We had some delicious strawberry jam and are definitely going back next strawberry season!

Another adventure to sugarloaf over memorial weekend!  Joel loved it and we had a blast! Here are some pics!

Its time to cut that hair!!

Yes I know it has been awhile since we last updated.  What can I tell you, its summer and its a time for relaxing and forgetting our duties.  That and I am constantly running after a 16 month old!

Over memorial weekend we decided it was time to cut Joel's hair, he needed it for sure!  So off came his hair and our adventure of cutting his hair ourselves began!  I really had no idea what I was doing, so I hope his hair cut came out decent!    

Yes, even Joel screams and has tantrums!  We are lucky enough to have a preview of what is to come when he turns two!  lol  But you gotta admit he was doing pretty good sitting still for mom while we were cutting his hair and while he was wondering what was going on!!

The finished product and glad to be out of his chair!! 

 His hair is almost at the point that he needs another hair cut already!
